John Grogan was a Member of the British Parliament for 13 years from 1997 to 2010. He chaired the All Party Parliamentary Mongolia Group from 1997 to 2010. John is now Chairman of the Mongoluan British Chamber of Commerce. He has visited the country 42 times and has been awarded with the Pole Star ( which is the highest award which can be awarded to a foreigner by the Mongolian President) for his work to promote political and economic links between the two nations. Until recently John also chaired Hatfield Coal mine in Yorkshire which was the second last British deep coal mine to close
